The Company 
A company specialized in importing and exporting diverse merchandize by road, sea and air.

Our client seeks to further enrich its sales team by hiring a talented and experienced sales representative whose primary tasks will consist of making sales presentations and product demonstrations, generating domestic and international leads, negotiating contracts and meeting sales targets.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for,

  • Prospecting and converting sales leads to concrete opportunities utilizing action related sales markers
  • Developing business with a keen ability to discuss a client’s specific needs and deliver adequate support
  • Preparing and presenting quotes, including transportation, freight, import/export and all other related services
  • Following and implementing periodic sales planning
  • Expanding customer base; establishing and maintaining existing clientele relationships
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders; designing shipping plan and follow up
  • Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from clients
  • Handling import-export related issues
  • Negotiating with suppliers about terms of pricing, delivery date, product’s quality
  • Dealing with customers’ request/claim on product-related issues
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  • Maintaining client records; Preparing reports as required by management
  • Responding to client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability
  • Attending trade shows and fairs where necessary

Requirements
  • Diploma / Bachelors degree in Sales and Marketing Management or related field 
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years or more experience in a similar position

Skills & Aptitude
  • Good written and verbal skills to effectively present information in writing and in person in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, carrier representative, company sales personnel and other coworkers
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within import export sales, business and market development field
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively work with individuals both inside and outside the company
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, take initiative with pro-active approach to problem solving
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, procedure manuals, tariffs, and other technical and professional material
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fully competent, independent manner with little supervision
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Good proficiency in French is an added advantage
